Deputy Managers

Our deputy managers will provide direction to their teams and support the unit manager in every aspect of the day to day operations.

Where do you come in?
You will be responsible for supporting with new team member inductions, training and ongoing development, whilst monitoring performance against our operational standards. You will have the opportunity to set and review objectives, as well as get involved in annual appraisals.

Working alongside the manager and heading up the teams in their absence, we want our deputy managers to gain a thorough understanding of all areas of the business. From weekly/monthly reviews, to controlling labour costs and sales forecasting, we make sure you experience it all. As after all, every deputy manager is potentially a future manager.

General Managers

Our general managers are a talented group of people who have an understanding of all the aspects which make a successful business. From building a thriving customer focused team through recruiting and developing the right people, a successful SSP manager understands that the team and the customer is at the heart of everything we do.

Where do you come in?
We have high standards within our business and it is your responsibility to ensure that the teams are fully up to date with both internal and external audit requirements. Reporting in to the operations manager, you will have full accountability for daily, weekly and monthly results. Your performance will be regularly discussed against period and annual targets, whilst striving to find additional opportunities to exceed expectations.

If you’re in a larger unit or site, you may have a Deputy Manager and / or Team Leaders reporting in to you. You will need to implement change and inspire confidence through your team to deliver outstanding service and products to our customers on the go. By making the most of your excellent communication and people management skills, you will set targets in line with our expectations and empower your team to deliver results.
Through continuous coaching and development, you will have a keen focus on developing talent within your business and on building bench strength for the future. Reporting directly to the operations manager you will have the ability to think strategically and to implement long term business improvement plans.

Operations Manager

Our operations managers are senior business leaders with responsibility for developing their management teams, effective succession planning, driving operational and financial results and shaping the strategy for their area. Operations managers are typically accountable for a geographical region of a category which could include a multitude of brands.

Where do you come in?
As an operations manager with previous experience in a similar role, you would utilise your experience by creating an inspirational approach to communicate goals and objectives. You would also play a large role ins coaching your management teams, giving strong direction and leadership and use your commercial acumen to ensure you exceed financial targets and deliver exceptional customer service.

Our operations managers are our future operations directors, so for those with a proven track record and the ambition to progress – you could reach this level within SSP.
